Members of Three Rivers Chapter 16 like to give back to the community. One way that the chapter does this is by sponsoring fishing trips for the Veterans from the Veterans Hospital in Butler Pennsylvania. Fishing is therapeutic and is considered therapy for the individuals at the VA hospital.
The chapter schedules two trips for Muskie, one in the spring and one in the fall. Roughly 15-20 members from the club bring boats for this event. Our chapter also sponsors 2 trips a month during June, July and August. These trips are on pontoon boats and we take the Veterans out to target pan-fish and bass. Many counselors from the hospital tell us that this is often the best therapy for their patients!
